

A tour in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Yerevan is one of the ancient cities in the world with a history of about 3000 years. In 782 B.C. the Urartian King Argishti founded a fortress called Erebuni and from this fortress the city of Yerevan emerged. Yerevan is a dynamic city with a unique architectural taste and style. It boasts a very active nightlife when the city dwellers spend the cool summer nights in numerous open air cafes scattered all around the city. In Yerevan you can sense the spirit of Armenian hospitality.
The city tour starts from the Republic Square where most of the government buildings are situated. Visit Matenadaran Museum, which is the largest depositories of Armenian manuscripts in the world. Matenadaran’s collection includes over 17000 handwritten manuscripts dating from 5th century. The Museum also has large number of manuscripts in Arabic, Persian, Greek, Syrian, Latin, Ethiopian, Indian, Japanese and other languages.
Take a walk in Abovyan Park and visit Cascade. When you climb the stairs of Cascade you can enjoy a beautiful view of Yerevan. At the foot of Cascade have a coffee break at an open air café. Lay flowers in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide. Visit the Genocide Museum dedicated to 1,5 million innocent victims perished in 1915.

Later visit Yerevan Brandy Factory to take a tour in the factory and to taste the famous Armenian Brandy. “Ararat” brandy is distinguished by its deep amber color, saturated flavor, rich velvet taste, and lasting aftertaste.
Return to the center of Yerevan and visit Vernissage open air market where you can buy handmade woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, carpets, canvases, paintings, and many other souvenirs and works of art.
