Beach recreation in Armenia is first of all the cost of one of the most famous and largest mountainous lakes in the world – Lake Sevan (situated at 1896m. altitude). Today it is a beautiful resort with hotels, motels, resort houses and variety of restaurants for tourists with various finances. Sevan is beautiful in any season and in any weather, but is naturally most popular in the summer.

The origin of Lake Sevan is volcanic. The landscape of this region is especially picturesque. One will admire the mountainous steppes, snow-covered mountain tops. The lake is divided into two parts: little (Little Sevan) and big (Big Sevan). The depth of Little Sevan reaches 98.7 m, and Big Sevan – 58.7 m. 28 rivers flow into the lake, and only one, Hrazdan, flows out. The water surface has an extraordinary sky blue color, and the transparency of the water reaches 11 m. The temperature of the lake water in the summer varies from 17°C to 24°C.
