One Week Nature Based Tour in Armenia

Day 1 Arrival to Yerevan
Arrival, airport pick up and assistance transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Depending on the time of arrival, rest, acclimatization and a short city tour. Lunch or welcome dinner in an Armenian Restaurant with Armenian traditional music and dance. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 2 Yerevan – Echmiadzin – Tsaghkadzor
After breakfast return to Yerevan. Tour to Echmiatsin, the religious center of Armenia. A tour to the gems of Armenian religious architecture – Church of Saint Hripsime (618 A.D.) and Main Cathedral (301 A.D.). A tour to the unique museum and treasury of Armenian church. Lunch in a restaurant. Tour to Tsakhkadzor resort town. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Tsaghkadzor.
Day 3 Tsakhkadzor – Sevan
Breakfast in hotel. City tour in Tsakhkadzor. On the modern ski lift ascend halfway the Teghenis Mountain. Continue to the summit of the mountain by foot. From the summit opens a spectacular panorama of Lake Sevan, mountains, valleys and forests. After a short rest descend back to the place of accommodation. Lunch. Rest and sightseeing of Kecharis Monastery (11th – 13th centuries). Continue the tour on bus towards the Artanish Peninsula Preserve located on the shore of Lake Sevan. The Preserve is famous for the diversity of its natural landscapes. Lake Sevan is one of the highest freshwater navigable lakes in the world with crystal clear water, diverse fauna including the endemic trout called “Ishkhan” (which translates as “Prince Fish” from Armenian). If the weather permits, swimming in the lake (in summer the temperature of the water is about 19-22C0). Dinner in an Armenian family on the shore of Lake Sevan. Discover the ways of life of the traditional Armenian family. Overnight in B&Bs.
Day 4 Sevan – Dilijan
Breakfast. Tour to Dilijan town which is a famous resort with excellent quality of air. Dilijan is the favorite destination of people with respiratory diseases. The town is surrounded with mountains and lush coniferous and broadleaf forests which make part of Dilijan National Park. Dilijan is also famous for numerous mineral water springs which are useful for treating diseases of gastrointestinal tract. A short walk in the territory of the national park towards the medieval Haghrtsin Monastery (11th century) which is hidden in a grove of ancient trees high up in the mountains. Sightseeing. Visit the mineral water springs near Jukhtakavank Monastery. Lunch in Dilijan. A tour in the historic district of Dilijan and visit the Sharambeyan Museum. Free time in Dilijan. Dinner and accommodation in B&Bs.
Day 5 Dilijan – Ijevan
Breakfast. Continue the tour towards the picturesque small town of Ijevan. Like Dilijan, Ijevan is surrounded by lush forests and mountains. River Aghstev a tributary of the Kura river runs through the town. Visit the Botanical Garden of Ijevan houses numerous kinds of trees, plants and flowers from various parts of the world. A tour in the city park where you can find about 100 sculptures from many countries of the world. Lunch. After a short rest visit the unique Lastiver Cave located not far from Ijevan. Return to the town to visit the wine factory where you can taste Ijevan wine. Dinner and overnight in a B&B in Ijevan.
Day 6 Ijevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan
Breakfast. Visit Garni and Geghard. On the road stop near Charents Arch for a beautiful view of Biblical Ararat Mountain. A tour to cave Monastery of Geghard (13th century) which is included in UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Lunch in Garni Village with an Armenian family. Visit Garni Pagan Temple (1st century A.D.). Stop on the road to see the organ pipes of Azat river gorge. A walking tour towards Garni Temple dedicated to Mithra the God of Sun. Sightseeing in Garni. Return to Yerevan. Visit Vernissage the open air arts and crafts market. Dinner. Cultural program for the night. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 7 Free Day in Yerevan – Departure
Free time in Yerevan. Farewell dinner. Transfer to the airport and departure.
