Two Weeks Active Tour in Armenia

Day 1 Arrival and Accommodation – City tour(Short)
Arrival in Yerevan. Baggage pick up and transfer from Zvartnots Airport to hotel. Acclimatization. Welcome dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Yerevan – Geghard – Goght – Havuts Tar
Breakfast at hotel. Tour to the cave monastery Geghard (13th century) by bus. Visit Goght village. Begin the walking tour towards Havuts Tar Monastery (5km) through the territory of Khosrov Preserve. Lunch and rest. Continue through Havuts Tar Pass towards St. Stepanos Church (11th – 13th centuries) (8km). Set up tents, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 St. Stepanos – Azat Cave
Breakfast. Walk from St. Stepanos Monastery towards Azat Cave (15km). Lunch. Set up tents, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Azat Cave – Kakavaberd Fortress
After breakfast head towards medieval Kakavaberd Fortress (10th century) located in a picturesque site (8km). Set up tents, dinner and overnight.
Day 5 Kakavaberd Fortress – Bayburt Village
Breakfast. From Kakavaberd Fortress tour to Bayburt Village (18 km). Set up tents, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Bayburt Village – Garni Pagan Temple – Yerevan
Breakfast in Bayburt. Walk to pagan Temple of Garni (1st century A.D.) (4-5 km). Lunch. Return to Yerevan by bus. Dinner and overnight in Yerevan.
Day 7 Free Day in Yerevan
Free day in Yerevan. Lunch and dinner. Visitors can choose a cultural program for the evening.
Day 8 Yerevan – Tezh Mountain
Breakfast at hotel. Bus ride to Artavazd village, ascend Tezh Mountain in 2 stages: 2600m and 3107m above sea level. Return to base camp. Dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 9 Tezh Mountain – Artavazd – Meghradzor
Breakfast at camp. Bus ride to Meghradzor. Horse riding training. Lunch, free time, dinner and overnight.
Day 10 Meghradzor – Bargahovit
Breakfast at base camp. Horse riding tour to Bargahovit village (16km). Outdoor lunch. Dinner and overnight at B&Bs.
Day 11 Bargahovit – Jukhtak Monastery
Breakfast. Horse riding tour to Jukhtak Monastery (10th – 12th centuries) (16km). Lunch. Set up base camp. Dinner and overnight in base camp.
Day 12 Jukhtak – Yeghegnadzor – Yerevan
Breakfast at base camp. Bus trip to Arjeri Cave (Cave of the Bears). A two hours speleological tour in the cave. Lunch. Visit Noravank Monastery (13th – 14th centuries). Return to Yerevan. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Yerevan.
Day 13 Souvenir shopping at Vernissage in Yerevan/Free Day
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning visit the Vernissage open-air market where you can buy Armenian national souvenirs, carpets, paintings and other handicrafts. Lunch in a designated restaurant in accordance to a prior agreement with the guide. Free time. Farewell dinner and overnight in Yerevan.
Day 14 Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Check out of the hotel, transfer to the airport and check in for departure flight.

Lunch is organized on the route at 14:00 in a designated place.

The description of the route:
The tour route passes through the territory of Khosrov Preserve, one of the most picturesque and charming places of Armenia. Khosrov Forest was created in the 4th century A.D. by Armenian King Khosrov Kotak. The forest was planted in the place of an arid land and numerous game was released, making the forest the favorite hunting grounds for the Armenian nobility. Even now the Preserve boasts very lush flora, including more than 1800 species of plants, 156 of which are considered rare, endangered or disappearing. The fauna of the reserve is likewise thriving. In the reserve, one can find amphibians, 7 types of fish, and over 30 varieties of reptiles such as the Levantine Viper, Montpellier snake, dotted and collared dwarf snakes, the Pleskes racerunner, and various lizards. The Preserve also has numerous gorges, mountain lakes, forested areas and caves. You will also visit the cave Monastery Geghard, meaning "the Monastery of the Spear", which originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus during his crucifixion, allegedly brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus, and stored amongst many other relics. Now it is displayed in the Echmiadzin treasury. Havuts Tar and St. Stepanos Church, Kakavaberd Fortress and the ancient Garni Pagan Temple will offer you spectacular experience and memories.

For over 2000 years this area has been the favorite resting place of the Armenian royalty and nobility.
